Hayling Island

Oak View Care Home

Welcome to Oak View

At Oak View, we believe a care home should feel warm, welcoming and full of life — a place where people feel safe, respected and genuinely cared for, while families feel reassured that their loved one is in kind and capable hands.

Located on Hayling Island, Oak View offers residential, dementia, respite and day care in a comfortable and caring environment designed around dignity, companionship and quality of life. Whether someone is joining the home for long-term support, a short stay or flexible day care, the aim is always the same: to provide compassionate care in surroundings that feel reassuring, comfortable and homely.

Care and Support

Oak View provides residential care and dementia residential care for adults aged 50 and over, with additional respite and selected day care options. Support is tailored to the individual, recognising that every resident has their own needs, routines, preferences and life story.

The home supports people living with a range of needs, including dementia, mental health conditions, physical disability and complex age-related needs. The team is experienced in supporting people with mild, moderate and advanced dementia, including those who may experience distress, confusion or behaviours that require calm, skilled and compassionate care.

Staff training is an important part of life at Oak View. Ongoing development in key areas such as health and safety, medication administration, food hygiene and infection control helps ensure care remains safe, professional and responsive to each resident's needs.

Home and Lifestyle

Oak View has been designed to combine comfort, privacy and companionship. The home offers 51 single rooms, including 24 en-suite wet rooms, giving residents their own personal space within a supportive community.

Inside, residents enjoy clean, spacious surroundings, comfortable lounges and thoughtful details that make daily life easier and more enjoyable. Meals can be enjoyed indoors or outside when the weather allows, and residents can spend time in the gardens and patio areas overlooking nearby parkland. Lift access, wheelchair access, residents' internet access and the option to bring personal furniture all help create a more flexible and familiar home environment.

Life at Oak View is about more than care alone. Freshly prepared meals, drinks and snacks throughout the day, practical help with daily living, visits from hairdressers and chiropodists, outings, entertainment and welcoming shared spaces all contribute to a home where people can continue to enjoy life in comfort and dignity.

Location and Visiting

Oak View is located on Beach Road, Hayling Island, close to local shops, public transport and the seafront. The setting offers both accessibility and calm, with pleasant views over parkland and playing fields and outdoor areas where residents can enjoy fresh air and a change of scene.

Family and friends are always welcome. Visits are encouraged as an important part of life in the home, and tours can be arranged by appointment. The team aims to make visiting feel relaxed, warm and inclusive, recognising how important these connections are to wellbeing and reassurance.

A Word from Our Manager

I'm the Registered Manager at Oak View Care Home on Hayling Island, and I've been proud to call English Oak Care Homes my home for many years — now also supporting our wider team as Area Manager.

Above all, my priority is simple: everyone who steps through our doors — residents, families, and visitors — should feel genuinely welcomed, listened to, and cared for.

Choosing care can feel overwhelming, so we make three promises: we will listen, we will be honest, and we will treat your family as we would our own.

Before anyone moves in, we take time to learn the little things that bring comfort and joy. In those first weeks, we keep days calm and predictable so your loved one can settle at their own pace. You'll have a named key worker, clear communication, and an open invitation to speak with me directly.

Please do pop in for a cuppa and a look around. We'd love to meet you and show you how we tailor care to each person's individual needs.
